Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences | Member of the Graduate Faculty
Samuel Yalkowsky, PhD, serves as professor of pharmaceutical sciences, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. His current work involves basic research about the relationships between chemical structure and physical phenomena, such as solubility, partitioning, and melting. Yalkowsky developed the state-of-the-art algorithm for estimation of aqueous solubility and published more than 280 papers and six books about physical proprietary prediction and formulation of poorly soluble drugs. Co-author of two papers that won the EBERT PRIZE for best scientific paper in the JOURNAL OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES, he holds six patents and received the University of Arizona Graduate Teaching and Mentoring Award.
