Jeannette D. Hoit is a professor in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and University of Arizona UA) Director of Postdoctoral Affairs. She received her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the UA in 1986 and later pursued postdoctoral study in the Respiratory Biology Program, Harvard School of Public Health, and the Speech Research Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Hoit’s research and teaching interests include speech physiology as it relates to normal processes, particularly development and aging, and abnormal processes, particularly those associated with neuromotor speech disorders. She is currently focusing her research efforts on the areas of ventilator-supported speech and speaking-related dyspnea.
