Throughout my life I have always had an affinity for science, particularly atmospheric science. This particular interest led me to my eventual studies in environmental science, atmospheric science, and even education. As a graduate student in the atmospheric sciences, I specialized in climate research using observational records and working with other researchers in tree ring to assist in the development of paleoclimate precipitation records. I found myself participating in outreach education activities centered around these topics in my later years as a graduate student and beyond, and fell in love with teaching. I enjoyed blending my love for science and sharing it with others in a meaningful way that enhanced their understanding of the natural world around them. In addition, I find it fulfilling to work with research-backed pedagogical strategies to deliver this content in such a way that makes it understandable for the student. Online education is a new world for education as well as for me, but my desire to learn and grow to deliver quality science learning in a new way makes this field an exciting career.
