My name is Abdul Hakim. I am a Career-Track lecturer in the Writing Program, Department of English, University of Arizona. Currently I am also serving as the coordinator and a faculty co-chair of the Assessment Committee in the Writing Program. I joined the Writing Program in August 2021. I graduated with a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the English Department at the University of Memphis, where I was also a graduate teaching assistant in the English Department and writing consultant in the Center for Writing and Communication. Before starting my PhD studies, I was also a Fulbright scholar at Indiana University Bloomington. I am originally from Bangladesh, where I taught English at International Islamic University Chittagong for around 7 years after obtaining a BA Hons. and an MA in English from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. My current areas of interest are academic writing, corrective feedback, corpus linguistics, pragmatics, language testing and assessment.
