Meaghan Wetherell holds a Ph.D. in Geology and a bachelor’s degree in Biology, but has done research in archeology, paleontology, sedimentology, sociology, and other fields. Her primary research interest is the spatiotemporal drivers of extinction and diversification in mammals. She currently teaches courses in R, statistics, and science communication. She also co-teaches ISTA 498, the senior capstone course. In addition to her academic work, she has written for PBS and recently appeared on National Geographic.
