Michael J. Clark, SNS - School Nutrition SpecialistBS - Nutrition Management, focus in Child NutritionMPA - focus in Healthcare Michael started his career in school foodservice and spent nearly 30 years helping ensure that children had the opportunity to eat everyday regardless of family income. Most recently he served as Director of School Nutrition for Crane Elementary Schools in Yuma Arizona. Michael likes to share that he loved this job and the opportunities that it has presented him. Most of all, he loved that he felt like he always made a difference in the lives of children every day. He takes a lot of pride in the fact that he made it possible to ensure that every child attending a Crane school gets the chance to eat for free multiple times each day. During 2021, he joined the University of Arizona Yuma campus team and became a full-time faculty in 2023 teaching a variety of nutrition, wellness, and restaurant management courses. He likes to share that he feels very fortunate to have now fallen into his second passion. That is sharing all he has learned with others. He believes that his greatest value comes from being able to help others find their own passion and career. He never thought of himself as a great student, so it was a surprise to him that he has enjoyed teaching so much. We never know where life will take us and so we just need to be prepared to leverage the opportunities as they present themselves. Learning is not a race. You don't have to be the first one finished. It only matters that you don't give up.
