Valerie Lane became a Registered Architect in Tucson in 2015. She owns an Architectural Consulting firm, FixCity LLC; established in 2009 and was hired by the University of Arizona, School of Architecture in 2014. She maintains an active practice and currently teaches Structures courses in the Bachelor of Architecture program and Integrated Technology courses in the Master of Architecture program. Valerie received LEED accreditation in 2007 through the US Green Building Council and in 2012 received certification from the National Environmental Health Association as a Home Health Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Utah, and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Arizona. Valerie serves as treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Community Home Repair Projects of Arizona. In 2004 she studied for three months under visionary Architect, Paolo Soleri at Arcosanti, AZ. Valerie’s desire to practice Architecture stems from early childhood and her dedication to the field is unwavering. She rides her bicycle to work every day, has two young children, and finds joy in all facets of her life. I am currently mid-pandemic with a major life change around me. The state of this UAVitae feels as tragic as my current life capabilities. I am constantly distracted and unable to give my work my full attention at this time. I hope this changes in the near future.
