Bioarchaeology is the study of human remains from archaeological sites in order to understand the biological and cultural aspects of past populations. This interdisciplinary field combines techniques and methods from archaeology, anthropology, biology, and other scientific disciplines to analyze skeletons, teeth, and other human remains to reconstruct past lifeways, health, diet, and social structures. Bioarchaeologists also investigate patterns of migration, population movements, and interactions between different groups of people in the past. This research area provides valuable insights into the lives and experiences of ancient populations and helps to expand our knowledge of human history and evolution.
