Sandra was born in a beautiful little town called Alamos in Sonora, Mexico. In 2006 she studied philosophy at De La Salle University in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. In 2018 she graduated with a BA in Education from New Mexico Highlands University. She then obtained her Master's degree in Latin American literature from New Mexico State University in 2020. She was the founder and director of an international film festival, El Festival Internacional de Cine Álamos, in Mexico for ten years. During that time she won three national awards in support of the film festival.In 2020 Sandra started working at the U of A in the Spanish and Portugues department. For two years in a row Sandra was nominated for the Five Star Faculty award at the U of A. She is also part of the Spanish and Portugues Film Festival committee at the U of A.During her free time Sandra likes hiking and mountain biking with her family.
