Richard Tuckett, Associate Professor, serves as Costume Director for the School of Theatre Arts, and teaches courses in Costume Construction, Pattern Drafting and Draping, and Tailoring. Professionally, Rick has constructed or designed costumes for the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Utah Shakespearean Festival, The Virginia Opera, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Ballet Michigan and Illinois Dance Theatre. He has produced costumes for designers Isaac Mizrahi, Martin Pakladinaz, Robert Perdziola, Jane Greenwood, James Schuette, Linda Cho, Jess Goldstein, Setsu Asakura, Bruno Schwengl and Andre Barbe. He has also taught for the University of Michigan-Flint and the Flint School of the Performing Arts. He is the recipient of the 2003 College of Fine Arts Charles and Irene Putnam Award for Teaching Excellence.
