Amy Klein MD has been with Banner University Medical Center since July of 2018. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Medicine. She spends the majority of her time with the inpatient palliative care service and serves as the Director of Palliative Medicine at Banner University Medical Center Tucson. She also also works with the University of Arizona Cancer Center Supportive Care Clinic. She is the Program Director for the University of Arizona Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program. She is actively involved in teaching students, residents, fellows, and faculty about specialty care for patients with serious medical illnesses focused on maximizing quality of life. She received her undergraduate degree from Luther College in Decorah, IA, and her MD degree from University of Iowa. She completed her fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in 2016. She has interest in pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic modalities to improve quality of life for cancer patients, quality improvement initiatives to improve medical care for hospitalized patients, and development of didactics related to communicaation and symptom management.
