Asst. Vice President of Middle East and North African Affairs, Arizona Global, University of Arizona. In this capacity, Hassan works closely with UA colleges, departments, the UA Alumni Association, the UA Foundation and foreign entities including companies, universities and government agencies) to develoa comprehensive Arizona Global alumni and outreach program aimed at promoting international partnerships and development initiatives. Specifically, he is responsible for developing UA micro campuses with partner universities, also leverage investment opportunities with individuals, corporations, foundations and other entities or agencies, as well as pursuing collaborative relationships nationally and internationally to support new and existing programs, institutes and initiatives. Before joining Global Initiatives, Hassan held the position of Director of External Affairs for The University of Arizona Biosphere 2. His focus was development of strategic initiatives to advance the missions of Biosphere 2, and B2 Institute. Before joining Biosphere 2, Hijazi served as Assistant Director of the University of Arizona Office of Federal Relations from 2003-2007. In this capacity he acted as liaison between the University of Arizona and the Federal Government. Hijazi worked as District Aide to Congressman Jim Kolbe for 13 years, dealing with a variety of issues including agriculture, education, science, space and technology.
