Dr. vanSonnenberg is an Interventional Radiologist who is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Radiology. He has been, or is, in academic medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, as well as at UCSD, UCLA, University of Texas, and Harvard Medical School as Professor, and at their corresponding medical centers. At the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, besides for Student Affairs, he is or has been involved in CBI, Scholarly Projects, Anatomy instructor, Sim Lab instructor, independent studies advisor, and interest grouadvisor. Dr. vanSonnenberg has mentored well over 100 medical students doing projects and publications. With his faculty colleagues, residents, fellows, and medical students, they have published approximately 500 original manuscripts, chapters, and books. Dr. vanSonnenberg has been a competitive hardball baseball and basketball player. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the 850 member Arizona Baseball League. He is married to an Internal Medicine physician.
